In a colorful fusion of food and cultures, East Side Sushi introduces us to Juana, a working-class single mom who can slice and dice anything with great speed and precision.
After landing a job at a local Japanese restaurant, she discovers a whole new world far-removed from everything she has ever known.
Intrigued by the food, she eventually learns on her own to make a multitude of sushi. When she is not allowed to work there as a sushi chef, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, determined to not let anyone stop her from achieving her dream.
